Saturday 11th July, Japan Festival “Matsuri”

The Embassy of Japan and JICA in Solomon Islands will host a Japanese cultural event titled “Japan Festival ‘Matsuri’” in Honiara as follows: (Matsuri means “festival” in Japanese)
<Date, Time> Saturday, 11th July 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
<Venue> Futsal Court (next to the Multipurpose Hall) in Chinatown, Honiara
<Admission> Free
Visitors will be able to experience Japanese culture through a variety of booths, including opportunities to try on traditional summer outfit “Yukata” and take part in craft activities, along with calligraphy and other traditional cultural activities. In addition, Kitano Mendana Hotel will feature a booth introducing Japanese festival food culture.
The program will also include a performance stage, with opportunities for visitors to enjoy and participate in the traditional Japanese dance, “Bon Odori.”
All are warmly invited to attend and enjoy this cultural event.
