Ambassador HIGUCHI paid a courtesy call on newly appointed Prime Minister Wale on 19th. The Ambassador congratulated Mr Wale on his election as Prime Minister and discussed briefly Japan's past cooperation achievements with Solomon Islands, including grant aid, human resource development, and support in cooperation with international organizations. In response, Prime Minister Wale spoke about the challenges for the further development of Solomon Islands, including free education and investment to Solomon Islands.
