Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 2027 : Research Students - Now Open

This program is for individuals who are enrolled in a master’s course, a doctoral course, or a professional graduate course at a graduate school, or who are conducting research in a specialized field at an undergraduate department, graduate school, institute attached to a university, etc. with the aim of completing the course, or who are receiving preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects prior to placement at the university, etc. (Excluding Young Leaders’ Program Students or Teacher Training Students.)

Application Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents to the Embassy of Japan in Solomon Islands by Friday, 22nd May 4:00 p.m.  
Email submissions are NOT accepted, and the submitted documents will not be returned.
**LATE OR INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY**

Selection Schedule

  • Application Deadline : Friday, 22nd May 4:00 p.m.
  • Announcement of document screening results : Friday, 29th May
  • Written Examination : Thursday, 18th June
  • Announcement of Examination results: Thursday, 25th June
  • Interview : Mid-July
  • Announcement of Interview results: Mid-July
  • Second Screening by MEXT : Late-November
  • Announcement of Successful Candidates: December
