<Duration> 5 years from April 2028 include 1 year of Preparatory Education
*Preparatory Education : Japanese affairs, Mathematics, English, Social studies for those majoring in Social Science A/B and Humanities, Physics, Chemistry ,Biology for those majoring in Natural Sciences A/B/C
 
<Important : Please read carefully>
  • After completing 1 year of preparatory education, a grantee needs to take and pass the entrance exams for a University designated by MEXT.
  • If a grantee is deemed incapable of completing the preparatory education, the scholarship will be cancelled, and the grantee will be required to return to his/her home country.
  • If a grantee is unable to enter a university designated by MEXT despite having completed the preparatory education, the scholarship will be cancelled, and the grantee will be required to return to his/her home country.

  • Social Science A,B & Humanities : Japanese, English, Mathematics
  • Natural Sciences A : Japanese, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics
  • Natural Sciences B,C : Japanese, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology

Application Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents to the Embassy of Japan in Solomon Islands by Friday, 22nd May 4:00 p.m.  
Email submissions are NOT accepted, and the submitted documents will not be returned.
**LATE OR INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY**

Selection Schedule

  • Application Deadline : Friday, 22nd May 4:00 p.m.
  • Announcement of document screening results : Friday, 29th May
  • Written Examination : Wednesday, 17th June
  • Announcement of Examination results: Wednesday, 24th June
  • Interview : Mid-July
  • Announcement of Interview results: Mid-July
  • Second Screening by MEXT : Late-November
  • Announcement of Successful Candidates: December
