On 18th March, the Embassy staff, alongside representatives from Solomon Islands’ Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, traveled to the stunning island capital of Tulagi to pay a courtesy call to Hon. Premier Kenneth Sagupari of Central Province.

During our meeting, Premier Sagupari expressed his sincere gratitude for Japan’s long-standing support. We also engaged in a forward-looking discussion on how to further deepen the partnership between Japan and Central Province.

Central Province is renowned for its bountiful marine resources, so it’s no surprise that cooperation in the fisheries sector was a major pillar of our conversation. We took the opportunity to reflect on the successful outcomes of past assistance while exchanging views on local needs to drive future development.

The Government of Japan remains dedicated to staying attuned to the aspirations and needs of the people of Central Province. Working hand-in-hand, we will continue to support sustainable growth and the building of a brighter future for the community.
