A courtesy call by Returning JICA volunteer
2026/2/3
On 3rd February, JICA Volunteer Mr Ogushi paid a courtesy call on Ambassador HIGUCHI before his upcoming return to Japan. This week marks the successful conclusion of his two-year assignment in Solomon Islands.
Based at the Kastom Gaden Association (KGA)—an organization dedicated to boosting local agricultural production and enhancing food security—Mr Ogushi has poured his heart and soul into the development of the Solomon Islands' agricultural sector.
During their meeting, Ambassador HIGUCHI offered his highest praise and sincere gratitude, stating: "Mr Ogushi’s dedication and proactive attitude must have left a lasting impression on the hearts of the Solomon Islanders he worked alongside. His commitment to 'sweating together' with the local community is a true testament to his impact."
Throughout his two years, Mr Ogushi served as a tireless "bridge" between Japan and Solomon Islands, always greeting his community with a bright smile, even in an unfamiliar environment.
Mr Ogushi, thank you so much for your incredible hard work and passion! All of us at the Embassy are rooting for your continued success in your next chapter back in Japan!
