The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at designated Japanese universities as Teacher Training Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program as follows.

Application Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents to the Embassy of Japan in Solomon Islands by Friday, 30th January 4:00 p.m. Email submissions are NOT accepted, and the submitted documents will not be returned.- Application Form for FY2026
- Placement Preference Application Form for FY2026
- Certified grade transcript for each academic year from the last university/ teacher training school attended
- The diploma from the last university/ teacher training school attended
- Certificate of employment
- Recommendation letter from the immediate supervisor at work (Recommendation Letter Sample)
- Certificate of Health

Selection Schedule
- Application Deadline : Friday, 30th January 4:00 p.m.
- Announcement of document screening results : Friday, 6th February
- Examination : Monday, 16th February
- Announcement of Examination results: Thursday, 19th February
- Interview : Wednesday, 25th February
- Announcement of Interview results: Friday, 27th February
- Announcement of Successful Candidates: Mid June
