ICT Equipment Handover Ceremony
On 17th October, 2025, the official handover ceremony of ICT Equipment in “Strengthening Legislatures’ Capacity in Pacific Island Countries (SLIP)” Project Phase IIwas held at the Paul Tovua Complex. The ceremony was attended by Ambassador HIGUCHI Keiichi, Hon. Patterson John Oti, the Speaker of Parliament, Ms. Raluca Eddon, the UNDP Deputy Resident representative, and as well as members of parliament and parliamentary clerks.
During this handover ceremony, ICT equipment listed below were provided to the offices of the 10 Standing Select Committee chairpersons at the National Parliament.
Ambassador Higuchi stated, “I sincerely hope that Solomon Islands Parliament will make the best out of these additions, and in turn benefit the people of this nation, fulfilling the ultimate SLIP goal of building public trust through transparent and accountable processes.”
It is expected that this provision will lead to the digitalization and improved efficiency of parliamentary operations through the utilization of ICT, enhance the resilience of parliamentary functions during disasters or disruption, and foster stronger relationships with citizens, increase transparency, and promote active citizen participation.

- 10 Dell desktop computers
- 10 Dell 22-inch LED monitors
- 10 Dell power cables for the computers
- 10 UPS battery backup and surge protection, and
- 1 Server
