From 30th September to 3rd October, Hon. Peter Shanel Agovaka, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, visited Japan as an official guest to attend the Solomon Islands National Day at the Expo2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Also, Hon. Harry Kuma, Minister of Commerce, Industries, Labor and Immigration, and Hon. Choylin Yim Douglas, Minister of Culture and Tourism, visited Japan during the same period to participate in the National Day.
 
On 1st October, before attending the National Day of the Expo 2025, Hon. Agovaka called upon Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan at the Minister’s office in Tokyo.

On 2nd October, Hon. Agovaka attended the Solomon Islands National Day ceremony at the Expo2025 Osaka,Kansai and gave a speech. At the ceremony, a Solomon Islands original play and traditional dances were performed, and it provided a valuable opportunity for the large audience to experience and appreciate the culture of Solomon Islands.
Following the luncheon and a visit to Japan pavilion, the Ministers visited the Solomon Islands exhibition area located in a pavilion used by a number of Pacific, Caribbean and African countries and received an explanation about the displays. Then they toured the Expo as much as time allowed.
At the dinner reception hosted by Solomon Islands in the evening, they deepened their interactions with the traditional dance team from Solomon Islands, Mr. HIGUCHI Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to Solomon Islands, and Mr. KITANO Takahiro, Honorary Consul of Solomon Islands in Tokyo.
