Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 2026 (Undergraduate, Specialized Training College, and College of Technology Students) – NOW OPEN

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers three types of scholarships to international students who wish to study at Japanese national universities as Undergraduate Students, Japanese specialized training colleges as Specialized Training College Students, and Japanese national institutes of technology (KOSEN) as National Institute of Technology (KOSEN) Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program 2026.

All applicants must submit their completed application form with the required documents to the Embassy of Japan by 4PM on Friday 16th May 2025

Selection Process
b. Examination (English/Japanese) and Interview: End of June to Beginning of July 2025
c. Announcement of Primary Selection: Middle of July 2025
d. Announcement of Successful Candidates: December to February 2026
Please note the following:
The scholarship schedule COULD BE CHANGED OR EVEN CANCELLED depending on prevailing circumstances.
Only shortlisted applicants will be informed of further procedures.
Only shortlisted applicants will submit medical certificate. The Embassy of Japan in Solomon Islands will inform those who will submit the medical certificate.
Please DO NOT use the forms for the previous year.
