Handing-over Ceremony for “The Project for the Construction of a Classroom Building for Areatakiki Seventh-day Adventist Primary School in Guadalcanal Province” under Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects

On November 20, a handing-over ceremony for the “The Project for the Construction of a Classroom Building for Areatakiki Seventh-day Adventist Primary School in Guadalcanal Province” was held in Areatakaiki community, Guadalcanal Province. The ceremony was attended by Ambassador H.E Yoshiaki MIWA, representatives from MEHRD, Guadalcanal Provincial Government, the school principal and staffs, students, and many others involved in the project. A great deal of gratitude toward Japan was expressed.
Under this grant aid program, the Government of Japan fund worth up to US$87,147 (about 724,000 Solomon Islands dollars) for the construction of school building for Areatakiki Seventh-day Adventist Primary School.
This grant aid project aims to improve the educational environment at the school and contribute to the enhancement of basic education in the region.
Ambassador H.E. Yoshiaki MIWA thanked all those involved in the successful completion of the project and expressed his hope that the learning taking place in the new classrooms will significantly contribute to the economic and social development of the Solomon Islands. He also reaffirmed Japan’s ongoing commitment to continued cooperation in the education sector.
