Signing Ceremony for “The Project for the Procurement of Secondhand Ambulance for the Fauabu Rural Health Clinic” under Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects

On November 18, at the Embassy of Japan in Solomon Islands, Ambassador H.E. Yoshiaki MIWA signed grant contracts for two projects under the 2024 Grassroots Human Security Grant Aid Program “the The Project for the Procurement of Secondhand Fire Trucks for Honiara City and Three Provinces in Solomon Islands” with representative of the Fire and Rescue Services of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), and the “The Project for the Procurement of Secondhand Ambulance for the Fauabu Rural Health Clinic” with representative of Fauabu Rural Health Clinic.
The Government of Japan fund worth up to US$89,705 (about 732,000 Solomon Islands dollars) for the fire truck project, and US$31,346 (about 263,000 Solomon Islands dollars) for the ambulance project.
Each of these projects aims to strengthen disaster response and emergency medical systems, and overall, these are expected to contribute to the strengthening of governance in Solomon Islands.
