Signing Ceremony for “The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS）”

On August 20^th, Japanese Ambassador H.E. Mr. MIWA Yoshiaki and Hon. Peter Shanel AGOVAKA, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade signed and exchanged notes for “the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship” ( project up to one hundred and forty-nine million yen ). At the same time, a Grant Agreement (G/A) was also signed between JICA and the Minister. This project is expected to not only contribute to human resource development and system building in administrative organizations by enabling young Solomon Islands government officials to obtain degrees at graduate schools in Japan, but also to further strengthen the friendly relationship between Japan and Solomon Islands. At the ceremony, Minister Hon. Agovaga expressed his expectations for human resource development in Solomon Islands' administrative institutions and his gratitude to Japan.
