On April 26, a handover ceremony of a hydraulic shovel car for the " The Project for Unexploded Ordnance Disposal in Central and Western Solomon Islands " was held at the Solomon Islands Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Facility in Hell's Point, Guadalcanal Province. The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Evelin Tsugea, representative of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team Clifford Tsunuki, and many others, who expressed gratitude towards Japan.

Through this funding assistance, the aim is to enhance the unexploded ordnance disposal capacity of the Solomon Islands Police EOD Team. Previously, they have been provided with all-terrain carts, two single-cabin pickup trucks, a boat, and other equipment. This project will contribute to the liberation of contaminated land within the 15,634 km,2 area of the target regions, namely Central (Guadalcanal Province) and Western (Western Province), allowing for resettlement of local residents and utilization of the land for agriculture, infrastructure construction, and other purposes, benefiting approximately 676,200 people in the region.

Ambassador Miwa expressed his hope that the shovel car would contribute to the Solomon Islands Police's unexploded ordnance disposal activities and be used with care and longevity.
