On April 26, 2023, the official handing over ceremony for “The Project for Construction of Classroom Building for Aimela Early Childhood School” was held in Central Kwara’ae of Malaita Province.

The Government of Japan fund worth up to US$64,165 for the construction of classroom building for Aimela Early Childhood School. This assistance will enable the school to provide appropriate learning environment to students and it will contribute to the socio-economic development of Solomon Islands through giving children opportunities for quality education.

Ambassador MIWA Yoshiaki mentioned that “It is very important to provide education for early childhood education in a good environment because it is the first stage of formal education for children. I believe that this funded infrastructure will one day produce potential leaders that will bring continuous positive change to this country.” Mr. Paul Patrick Suakini, the head teacher of Aimela Primary School mentioned in his remarks, that “It’s one of the major challenges for us to develop infrastructure due to lack of funds, so I am very grateful for the generous support from Japan. The building that Japan has built is a gift as a blessing that comes from a true friend.”
