Handing Over Ceremony of “The Project for Improvement of Water Supply for Ha’apai Community” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP)

On 27th of February, Counsellor Norimasa Yoshida and Hon. Kenneth George, Minister of Health, Western Province, former Premier WP, Ward members and representatives from provincial health office also attended the ceremony attended the handing over ceremony for “The Project for Improvement of Water Supply for Ha’apai Community” in Ha'apai, Roviana Lagoon, Western Province.
The Government of Japan provided fund worth up to US$76,770 for the installation of water supply for Ha'apai Community. This assistance will enable provide access to clean water to live with as a very basic right and contribute to the socio-economic development of Solomon Islands. Hon. Kenneth said in his remarks, “We are the fortunate one to have this great assistance from Government of Japan. And I believe the new water supply will solve many health issues of this community which we need to address and it is our business now to take care of what we have for our future generation”.
