Japan, SIG sign off EN to procure Medical equipment for Health Sector

An Exchange of Note was signed on 2nd of March 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade between the Supervising Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Hon. Peter Shanel Agovaka and the Ambassador of Japan to Solomon Islands H.E MIWA Yoshiaki. Witnessing the signing are PS of Ministry of Health Mrs. Pauline McNeil and Supervising PS of MFAT Mr. Cornelius Walegerea
This bilateral support is worth 200 million Japanese Yen (SBD $12M) for the procurement and supply of these medical items and equipment.
Minister Agovaka thanked the Government of Japan for the support and assures them that SI will continue to work together with Japan to promote and advance matters of mutual interests.
Ambassador of Japan, H.E MIWA Yoshiaki said the government of Japan hopes that the medical equipment will be used effectively in hospitals and medical health centers in the country to improve the welfare of the Solomon People.
