Handing Over Ceremony of “The Project for Improvement of Water Supply for Central Malaita” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP)

On 17th of October, Ambassador Yoshiaki MIWA and Hon. Daniel SUIDANI, Premier of Malaita, members of his executive and representatives from provincial health office also attended the ceremony attended the handing over ceremony for “The Project for Improvement of Water Supply for Central Malaita” in Fauala and Afio Community, Central Kwara’ae, Malaita Province.
The Government of Japan provided fund worth up to US$69,250 for the installation of water supply for Fauala and Afio Community. Through this assistance, people in the comunity will be able to access to clean water to live with as a very basic right and contribute to the socio-economic development of Solomon Islands. The Premier said in his remarks, “We are truly honored and proud to see the completion of this project. This is a huge achievement and milestone for our people in Fauala and Afio Community. I really appreciate generous support of Japan and I believe this water supply will be remembered as a symbol of the friendship between the two peoples of Japan and Solomon Islands for many years to come”.
