Handing Over Ceremony of “The Project for Construction of Classroom Buildings for Tumurora Primary School and Kindergarten School” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP)

On 20th of July, Ambassador MIWA Yoshiaki and Alfred Rima, Minister of Education/Deputy Premier of Guadalcanal and school representative also attended the ceremony attended the handing over ceremony for “The Project for Construction of Classroom Buildings for Tumurora Primary School and Kindergarten School” in Tumurora Community, Ghaobata Ward 21, North Guadalcanal Constituency.
 
The Government of Japan provided fund worth up to US$75,386 for the construction of 2 classroom buildings for Tumurora Primary School and Kindergarten School. This assistance will enable the school to provide appropriate learning environment to students and it will contribute to the socio-economic development of Solomon Islands through giving children opportunities for quality education
 
Ambassador Miwa mentioned that“I am proud our two countries continue to cooperate on important educational initiatives throughout Solomon Islands, and especially to provide much needed support to underserved communities in this country. And I hope that the new school buildings will be remembered as a symbol of the friendship between our two countries for many years to come” in his remarks. The Premier said in his remarks, “We are truly honored and proud to see the completion of this project. This is a huge achievement and milestone for our people of Solomon Islands. The school will provide the students with more comfortable learning environment and benefit many generations to come through this project. ”
