Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 2023 (Specialized Training College Students) – NOW OPEN

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who wish to study at Japanese specialized training colleges as Specialized Training College Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program.
1. Application Guideline
Applicants can collect hard copies from the Embassy of Japan, Point Cruz Arcade or access online from the Embassy’s Website.
2. Qualifications
Applicants must be a Solomon Islander under 25 years of age as of April 1st, 2023 (i.e. born between on or after April 2nd, 1998) and have completed 12 years of schooling or have completed school education comparable to a Japanese high school (includes prospective graduates).
3. Fields of Study
Applicants must choose a field of study and fill in “Preferred field of study and subjects in Japan” on the application form.
4. Terms of Scholarship
Three years from April 2023 to March 2026, including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan.
5. Language
Applicant must be willing to learn the Japanese language, be interested in Japan and enthusiastic about deepening his/her understanding of Japan after arrival there.
6. Application
Application opens on Friday 6th May 2022 and all applicants must submit their completed application form with the required documents to the Embassy of Japan by Thursday 9th June 2022, 4pm. The submitted documents will not be returned.
