The Signing Ceremony for “The Project for Provision of Generator for Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme

On 7th March, 2022, Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held at the Embassy of Japan. Mr. Norimasa Yoshida, Charge d'Affaires ad interim signed a contract with Mr. Johnson Honimae, CEO, Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation.
 
According to this newly agreed contract, the Government of Japan will provide financial assistance of a total of approximately US$70,075 (SBD$557,800), which will provide a generator to Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation. This project aims to improve public broadcasting services, correct the information gap among citizens and enhance information transmission capacity especially in times of COVID-19. Through this project, it will benefit approximately 700,000 citizens of Solomon Islands.
