The handover ceremony for “The Project for Procurement of Fire Truck for the Fire and Rescue Services, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme

On October 20, 2023, Ambassador MIWA Yoshiaki formally handed over a fire truck to the Fire and Rescue Services, in the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force. The handover ceremony for “The Project for Procurement of Fire Truck for the Fire and Rescue Services, in the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force” was held at the fire station in Honiara, and attended by Mr. Freddy Pelebo, Supervising Director of the Fire and Rescue Services, RSIPF and Mrs. Evelyn Tugea, Assistant Commissioner of RSIPF.
Mrs. Evelyn Tugea, Assistant Commissioner of RSIPF said in her remarks, “I really appreciate it with the generous support of Japan and this fire truck helps us enhance response capability to a fire towards the Pacific Games 2023 held in November. I expect the continuous friendship between Japan and Solomon Islands in the future.” Ambassador MIWA Yoshiaki said in his remarks, “I appreciate it with this opportunity. I’m very pleased to give you meaningful assistance before the Pacific Games 2023 by providing this fire truck which makes it possible to respond to a fire. This project was carried out thanks to our great efforts based on the friendship between Japan and Solomon Islands.”
