The process time for the issuance of a visa varies according to the purpose of journey. In general, it takes 3 working days to process and issue visa by the Embassy.

In certain cases, such as working visas etc (without a Certificate of Eligibility), and some short term visas, processing time can take up to 2 to 5 months if the applications need to be referred to the home government.

To shorten the processing time for such visas, it is recommended that the applicant obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from Japan before lodging the application at the Embassy.

Non-residents of Solomon Islands must apply for visas to Japan through the Japanese Embassy in their country of normal residence.
